Version 1.2 · Effective 30 August 2026 · Last updated 30 August 2026

01Scope

This policy explains how [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], ABN [ABN], handles personal information in connection with Australia Property Data. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

We describe only what the platform actually does today. Where a feature is not yet available, it is not covered here until it is.

02What we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to run the service.

  • Account information: email address, display name and role where you hold a newsroom account.
  • Newsletter information: your email address and the topics you select.
  • Correction requests: the details of the issue you report, and your name and email only if you choose to provide them.
  • Saved research: analyses, inputs and preferences you deliberately save while signed in.
  • Technical information: pseudonymous session identifiers used to count article readership.

03Analytics and measurement

We count article readership using a one-way hash of a session identifier combined with the article. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

04Why we collect it

We use personal information to deliver the newsletter you asked for, to operate accounts and saved research, to measure which journalism is read, to respond to correction requests and enquiries, and to meet legal obligations.

06Service providers

We use third-party infrastructure providers to host the database, application and email delivery. These providers process information on our instructions. Some may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

07Disclosure

We do not sell or rent personal information. We disclose it only to those service providers, to professional advisers where necessary, and where required or authorised by law.

08Retention

We keep personal information only while it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or for as long as the law requires. Consent records are kept as evidence of consent, including after a subscription ends.

09Security

Access to personal information is restricted by authentication and row-level database access rules. Internal compliance information, correction reporter details and consent records are not accessible to public users. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10Access, correction and complaints

You may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL]. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

11Changes

We may update this policy. The version number and effective date shown on this page always reflect the current policy.

This policy is general information about how this platform operates. It is not legal, financial, credit, tax or property advice.
